ESP Surface Penetrator Solutions

QCI P3

The QCI P3 is a single-mandrel, field-installed, 1-3/4” diameter penetrator system that can be installed on either round or flat (2F) ESP cable. It supports a full range of ESP cable sizes from #6, #4, #2, and several #1 cables in both leaded and non-leaded styles.

The QCI P3 penetrator system is unique in that it offers a direct feed-through of the pump cable to the surface without requiring a splice or downhole connection of any kind. Once on the surface, the downhole pump cable is connected to the surface cable within the QCI conduit box, available in Class 1, Division 1 and Class 1, Division 2 configurations. Surface cable is also available to complete the run to either a junction box or direct to the ESP controller.

The QCI P3 system is rated and certified to 5,000 psi API WP, and is a direct feed-through, the maximum rating for voltage and amperage is dependent on the pump cable. The QCI P3 system is offered with FM, CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certifications to support worldwide installations.

QCI P3-DM (Dummy Mandrel)

 

The QCI P3-DM Cable Seal Penetrator is the smallest solution on the market naming it perfect to replace failed and unreliable bulk head penetrators that use pigtails and splices. QCI stocks more than 105 Dummy Mandrels to convert and improve existing ESP wellheads to The QCI P3-DM Cable Seal Penetrator.

The Dummy Mandrel (DM) matches the outside profile of the existing penetrator that passes through the hanger and adapter. Seals and threads are incorporated to the profile to ensure a direct fit. Inside the DM is QCI’s simple QCI P3 seal pocket profile and a 1-1/4” internal thread at the top to connect the local junction box.

This simple solution continues to deliver the most reliable ESP cable solutions in to reduce cable and penetrator failures on and offshore while reusing valuable wellhead assets.

QCI P3-DC (Direct Connect)

The QCI P3-DC offers the QCI P3 continuous feed through penetrator system with a new robust surface cable plug-in. The ESP cable is run up to a top surface connection, eliminating a connection in the annulus or hydrocarbon area. With no plug at the bottom of the well bore and no splices needed, the QCI P3-DC is a more fail-safe solution than competitive systems.

ESP Packer Penetrator Solutions

The QCI Packer Penetrator Systems use the patented and reliable P5000 technology to isolate the three conductor leads of the ESP cable and pass them thru the production packer. This solution supports both Multi Port and Dual String Packer designs.

A Multi-Port Production Packer uses independent ports to pass the ESP cable and additional line support lines. QCI’s unique ability to isolate the 3 conductors and seal the 3 legs in tubing provide the perfect solution to support Multi-Port Packers. This approach can support both straight porting and deviated ports through the packer to support more complex designs. Metal-to-Metal fittings are used above and below the packer to ensure complete isolation from the wellbore fluids below the packer.

The P5000 Penetrator is the backbone of the design and continues to outperform the competition in the harshest environment of H2S around the world.

The QCI P5 is a three-legged, field-installed, penetrator system that supports both production packer and ESP surface wellhead penetrations. 

The QCI P5 system’s sleek design only requires 1.25” annular space. This makes it ideal for concentric design applications supporting new and existing wellhead installations. This unique design supports single, dual, triple, and more ESP installations in a single well.

The QCI P5 Slim Line (SL) draws on the reliability and technology of the QCI P5 Penetrator and compresses it into a smaller package. The three-legged, field-installed, design requires only 7/8” (22.23 mm) annular space making it the smallest penetrator on the market.

 

This pioneering solution allows for the deployment of ESPs in tight casing and smaller production casing wells. The P5000-SL is available for production packer and ESP surface wellhead penetrations.
